Photography: Keith Cabillon www.keithcabillon.multiply.com Location: Iloilo City, Philippines "DINAGYANG" came from the root word "Dagyang" which means to make merry. It is a religious and cultural activity celebrated annually by the Ilonggos every 4th sunday of January where they paint their bodies in black to imitate the black, small and slender Negritos/Aetes who are the aborigines of Panay. They are dressed in colorful and fashionable Aetas costumes and dance rhythmically to the beat of the drums. DINAGYANG: In the Hall of Fame "HALA BIRA" "Pit Señor"
