Heritage Buildings in Jaro

Arguelles Building

This commercial building, which used to be the residence of the Jalandonis (Carlos) is one of many heritage buildings built in the district of Jaro. If you walk past Aguelles St. (where this building is situated), you’ll find many colonial houses dating back to the Spanish and American Period.

    ive been to many places around the country, and iloilo is one of those whose historical buildings are found everywhere.. but its sad to note that some of this are being demolished… ilongos should learn how to preserve these and remember the past… historical landmarks are always being frequented by tourists.. and these are assets to be protected.. by your city government… hoping that wen i visit your city again .. demolished building in jm basa steets are already replaced by the same kind of of buildings with the same architectural design….those demolished buildings which are not replaced up to now serves as eyesore in your city…
