Guimbal Steel Bridge

Guimbal Steel Bridge

Correct me if I’m wrong, The Steel bridge in Guimbal is the longest steel bridge in Panay right? It was built during the American Period and it still as sturdy as ever. I hope a cable strayed bridge similar to that in Putra Jaya, Malaysia or even the new bridge in Butuan would also be built in Iloilo in the future, the Iloilo-Guimaras Bridge perhaps?

Very nice pics. But we have lots of things to develop and to improvise. Antes ipahulam ang aton nga kuarta sa mga kaingud nga islas, aton anay isla ang aton nga unahon, des pues iban. Ang project proposals dapat may TUPA. Action speaks more lauder than words. OK. Makalulo-oy man ang ciudad sang ILOILO nga pinabay-an. Wala guid kita iya sang taytay nga matahum nga igapabugal, tapos nabasahan namon nga kita sa ILOILO ang may pinakadaku nga fund sa banko, tapos aton lang ipahulam sa iban dira nga islas, ano kita buang-buang. Ang iban nga islas matahum ang ila nga ciudades, ti kita iya ano? UNAHON ANAY NATON ANG ILOILO KAG GUIMARAS period! Marc, thanks for giving us a space to voice our opinion. Hala Bira! Happy Dinagyang ‘08. And GOD BLESS US!

Law-ay man… i’m based in Saudi Arabia kag mas matahum bridges nila diri ya!

I too don’t find the bridge awe inspiring. Surely the ones in Saudi are much better than most (if not all) the bridges in the Philippines.

This particular bridge was built way back during the American Period. It has its historical value that makes it special because it is a reminder of the history of the town.
